Software conflicts? Long bootup time, computer freezing, etc.

Now that I seem to have had my malware issues solved, Tim recommended I post here for some assistance with software issues.

Unfortunately I don't quite know what to post in terms of logs, etc. however below is a list of what my computer is doing as well as a link to the thread I had going in the Malware Forum.

1. Booting up takes FOREVER. Literally 10+ minutes to get to the XP login.
2. After entering my XP password, it takes 15+ minutes for it to boot up, if it boots up at all. Sometimes I have to just turn my computer off then start again.
3. It takes a long time for Outlook to start up.
4. It takes a long time to get online (I use Firefox).
5. While on my computer whether it's internet browsing or using Word plus another program, everything will freeze up. Only turning off the computer will do anything.

Tim ~ ty I will try that however...I just unchecked some things in msconfig start-up with the hopes things would go faster. It didn't help, I had to turn my comp off 3 times and the last time it took almost half an hour to get to my desktop. I will put it back to normal after I download your suggestions.

Steve ~ I like to think of myself as relatively tech-savvy however when people ask me for specs, I go brain-dead. So...with that in mind...don't laugh lol... Please let me know what other info you need and where to find it.
