Software - doing the right thing

I had the executable file on my old computer for the Nero mp3pro plugin. After a trial version that comes with Nero, the mp3pro plugin allows continued unlimited line in recording of audio from cassettes, lp's etc into the line in, output to mp3 files (recording cassettes to mp3 format). I bought a new computer, and purchased Nero for it. Through a comedy of user errors on my part, I ended up purchasing a new copy of the mp3pro plugin for $19.95 from Nero's website. I had thought my file from my old machine was not working, and thought I had to buy a new one. Turned out, I just needed to click on "What You Hear" in Nero Media Player to get the thing recording again.
My question is this. I am willing to do the right thing by Nero. My old plugin transferred from old computer may have been working fine. Typically, should one being honest expect to have to buy a new plugin for a new computer? No one is using the old computer anymore. I need to decide whether or not it would be honest to dispute the $19.95 with the credit card company.

 

The decision is totally yours to make, but I think you already KNOW what the RIGHT thing to do is.

You wouldn't have spent the $20 if you couldn't afford it, right?

You have no basis to dispute that charge, you ordered the software, you received it, there's nothing wrong with it. It's not the vendor's fault if you discovered you didn't really need it, and software's not like clothing that you can take back to the store if you decide you don't want it. And for 20 bucks, it wouldn't be worth the hassle anyway.
