software download

I am trying to download AVG antivirus from MG's, but I lost my modem connection before it completed. When I reconnected, the download had to start over from the beginning. Is there a way for me to resume the download where it left off? Also, do I need to delete the file that contains the original incomplete download before attempting again?

you can try a download management program that willl let you resume your downloads (plus do a number of other cool things)

I recommend getright pro if your on dial-up.

also you don't have to delete the partially downloaded file, it will just be replaced when you download the file again.

Leechget http://www.majorgeeks.com/LeechGet_2005_d1821.html is free and has no adware, which might make a difference to you since you are on dial-up.

 

The ads in Download Accelerator make no difference to performance on dial-up.

Problem I have with LeechGet is that the free version only allows 1 file to be downloaded simultaneously (DAP has far better features).


You can always just use a browser that has a download manager built in, like Opera or FireFox.
