i had a problem with my three computers. i consulted with your spyware people in the support forum and they helped me eliminate one virus, four trojans, and two worms on two of my computers. the third one was having issues also, so i downloaded from your site, about buster, kill2me, cwshredder, hsremove, spybot, adaware, a2, stinger, klez remove, and ccleaner. maybe that was overkill, but i was trying to do what it took to remove the other stuff from my other computers. now when i boot up on the third computer i get the following message: error loading c:\Program Files\Wild Tangent|Apps|CDA\cdaEngine 0400.dll The specified module could not be found. Also when going on the internet, i sometimes get WMI Target.exe common language runtime debugging services. Application has generated an exception that could not be handled. Process id=0x150(336), thread id=0x55c(1372) clik ok to terminate application. clik ok to debug application. Also registered JIT debugger , an attempt to launch a jit debugger resulted in error code 0x2(2) cordbg.exe!a0xabc. Also when removing application has failed to start because msjava.dll was not found. reinstalling the application may fix this.

further details are that i have updated all windows updates including service pack2. i deleted mjjava vm and installed ms sun java. i also have mcafee virus scan on this computer. the other two have norton - is one better than the other? the computer that i am writing about is a dell dimension 4600, intel pentium 4 at 3.0GHz with HT technology, 512MB DDR SDRAM at 400 MHz, with 80GB HD running on windows XP Home edition that i just bought in June, 2004. Can you please help me? :)

I am getting some of the same errors. My Dell alerts doesn't work- error message. This site helped get rid of the bad stuff, I think a trojan/virus deleted somethings I need, and don't know how to get back (cordbg.exe)

Seriously, Gator is pretty much spyware/adware, get rid of it. If you want some sort of download manager try leechget or something similar. Check out what is available here Major Geeks Internet Utilities.

it sounds as if the wild tangent program had instaled itself to run at start up, and when you cleaned up your machine you may have deleted/disabled the dll file it may have been corrupted whatever. i would remove the program then reinstall it also uncheck the tickbox to run at start up when you install, so many programs do this know that are not really needed to

the WMI is Windows management instrumentaion it is part of the NET FRAMEWORK im not to sure but if you have programming programs on your pc(VB,etc) and an error is found on a page you visit on the internet you are prompted to debug the error with the tools available on your programming program (VB,etc) if you go to internet explorer-internet options-advanced-and put a tick in the box disable script debugging that should do the trick

    wild tangent is

"The WildTangent® Web Driver® is the leading 3D game software on the market. It takes advantage of the full multimedia capabilities of your PC to deliver rich, 3D, interactive content within your browser"

    "error loading c:\Program Files\Wild Tangent|Apps|CDA\cdaEngine 0400.dll"

go to program files on your pc and in there will be a folder with wild tangent on it delete it and then run crap cleaner to get rid of the registry entrys its left (i think you said you already had crap cleaner ) it sounds as if wild tangent is used for gaming purposes
then reboot your machine then download it here
    http://www.wildtangent.com/default.asp?pageID=webdriver_download
as it sounds as if it was preinstalled on your pc when you bought it

as for norton vs mcafee everyone has ideas of which one is the best
apparantly norton can play up a bit with certain programs installed on your pc but ive never used it so i cant really comment

i have mcaffe enterprise where i am know (in work) and that is very good .
there are plenty of good free antivirus products on here i want to try them out

i deleted wild tangent, then reinstalled from your link. however every time i run spybot it finds 8 wild tangent entries and a2 finds a wild tangent malaware. are these bad or should i not let a2 and spybot "fix or remove these problems"? if i leave them, alone is there a bad wild tangent that i will inadvertently let in? :)

Wild Tangent is internet gaming software. It collects some info from you, nothing major, so it's flagged as spyware by default in many anti-spyware programs. If you don't use Wild Tangent, just get rid of it and run a registry cleaner to remove any traces. It won't do anything bad to your computer, but it does take up space on your HD.

now when i boot up on the third computer i get the following message: error loading c:\Program Files\Wild Tangent|Apps|CDA\cdaEngine 0400.dll The specified module could not be found.

When you ran Adaware and Spybot and deleted Wild Tangent, it left a start-up entry in the registry. When it tried to start up Wild Tangent, it couldn't find the file and that is the error.
