    Hi, haven't logged in inawhile.

I keep getting this 0x79 error the one that says that the network could not assign my system an IP address to the DHCP. I read that it helps to disable the IPv6 and I have done that already.

I want to make a recovery disc set for my Windows 7 system. I start creating the first disc it stops at 44% for awhile and then shoots to 98% and tells me that there was an error.

I have read several articles about this error, but none seems to be helpful. That IPv6 disabling seems to only be useful in stopping error notices and stopping it from showing up in the event viewer.

I really need to create recovery media. This error seems to be the only thing preventing from doing that.

    Could someone please help me?

Two key facts you failed to mention:
    1. What type of network do you have trouble getting an IP from?
    2. Brand and model of computer so we can search for creating recovery DVDs.on your exact computer.

    Ok it's a LAN network.

The model is a Sony VAIO VPC226FM/B.

    How do I connect media?

I'm not sure this is the problem but if it is, then it won't be too hard to solve.
