What does the program in question do? Free up system resources to make demanding games run faster? If so, I used something called GameOS sometime back which was, I believe, developed by a member of this site. I think you can find it easily by a search on Google or Altavista and there was, last time I checked (about 6 or 8 months ago) a free version still available to try out before purchasing. It's easy to use. If I recall correctly it allows you to boot to a stripped down shell program that frees up a lot of your systems resources so a demanding game will run much better. I used it on my old Win98 system to play Morrowind and I was very pleased to find I could increase my graphics options to the max and still run the game quite satisfactorily whereas when running under the regular Windows shell I had to scale back some of the game's graphics features (shadows, horizon distance and so on).

I haven't used it for some time now as I built a new system with a faster processor and better graphics card, but as I said I think you could find a free trial version of GameOS with a web search.

But if the program you asked about is designed to speed up online game play (by reducing lag time for instance) I'm not sure GameOS will be of any help. If you just want to be able to play solo games though GameOS would be worth a look I think.
