Software that can records my desktop?

Hi, I used the searched button. Unfortunately I only found threads related to gaming recording such as Fraps.

I am currently looking for a program that can record my screen while I am doing something on my desktop. Anyone know any freewares or really good ones where I have to pay.

I found Screen Recorder Gold, etc. I just don't think it's worth paying for. The functions are that great.

I am not using this software to record a game clip or movie. Kinda looking for 1-2 hours of recording of someone using a software.

Wow, program is awesome but I just have one last request. Works GREAT! but I am kinda lazy so...

Is there a program where you can set a timer to stop recording. So it stops when time is up? I know it's a stupid feature, but I am just wondering if there is a program like that exists?
