Hey I was wondering if there is any software that I can put on my flash drive in case something happens like I can not boot my comp or any other programs that I should place onto the flash drive?

Are you trying to create a back up file incase you have a computer crash?

Umm what exactly do you mean by back up file? Do you mean just to place my most needed files onto the drive? Or something else?

Backup is a system file that holds all your necessary computer information in case of a system cash where you can restore your computer and have all your programs and files. Check out this link and it will give you ideas on backing up your computer.

    Hi

Guessing that your are after something that you can boot to on USB and have tools included that may help you fix your PC?

Ultimate BootCD does this and works great from CD/DVD, but it can be added in its latest version to USB Pen. http://majorgeeks.com/Ultimate_Boot_CD_Basic_d4019.html

But if just wanting a USB toolkit then many applications come in a portable version, a Search of ones on Majorgeeks here but also Portable Apps have loads here too.

I tend to have a 1GB USP Pen with many portable apps on it for times of troubleshooting a PC thats not mine.

hellzscream, can your computer boot from a flash drive? Not all computers can. In that case, you might want to create a boot CD to repair windows.

Are, you might consider buying a copy of Acronis True Image and making an image of your computer's hard drive. If it doesn't boot up or something is broken, you restore the computer or files from the image you burned.

Go into your BIOS, move the arrow over to Boot tab and look to see what boot choices you are given.

As far as making a backup, don't put it on the hd you are using. If that hard drive dies, you have no backup. Either put it on an external hard drive or burn DVDs.
200GBs is a lot to burn! Look through, clean out, burn your music, movies, photos, documents to CDs or DVDs then clean them off the computer. Defrag then see how much is left. Once the system is clean, make a full backup.
