not sure if anyone can help me or if i am even posting this in the right place....if it's all wrong then i apologise now but i have no idea about computers so this is my last chance! (i was impressed that i managed to register on this web site so that i could post something) so now you have an idea of my level of computer knowledge!!

i have a problem with my computer and not sure if it is to do with my norton. whenever i try to send an email 2 boxes pop up, the first one has ccCommon written in the blue heading and the text says "Please wait while Windows configures ccCommon"

then another box pops up over the top of that one saying Setup in the blue heading and the text says "This MSI must be launched through setup"

i would really appreciate if anyone could help cos the most worrying thing is that i have gone onto my live update tonight and it appears that my norton is now not really working at all and had urgent attention written when i checked the status box.

sorry if this is in the wrong place, but i just someone out there can make sense of this very garbled message!!!

If Norton is having problems you may be having spyware and virus problems too.Make sure your norton protecion is on and uptodate.Reinstalling norton can be difficult.here is how to do it.Commonclient error require reinstall.

If your noton subscription is expiring you can try free antivirus like avg and avast. The best payware will be kaspersky anti-virus.

This problem was really encountered due to Norton (frankly I have no special sympathy of their prodacts for some reason).

If your Norton indicators are in red with no NAV or auto-protect on, you will have to reinstall the product. This is a big job as once you uninstall the product from add/remove programs, Norton will still be buried in your system.
A good warning sign is when you try and reinstall it, you will receive an error message, or the CD install will look like it is backing up instead of going forward when it installs.
