#1) Installed nicely and I did not install the AV even though it says AV from the start, it's not, just a FW unless you want AV. (I hope I made sense there.)

#2) Checked it out at Gibson's 'Shields Up!' program and all is stealthed, not that I'm a big fan of his. Post your own results from other sites please.

#3) There are many people that get a 'dll not found' error. We'll have to wait on that one, lots of posts at their forums.

#4) I just love when my 'net connection comes up first, as opposed to Jetico, Comodo or VFC which can take a couple of minutes at least.

Anyways, it's a good start for something I've been waiting for Vista. ZA has always been a great FW for free. I hope this doesn't end.

May give it another try now Augie, since I mentioned it to you yesterday and I have done a daily image backup I may play abit, but I'm not in any mood to beta test another product of late all beta'd out, just want stability at present.

And as you say ZA is the easiest to setup out of all the FWs, just a pitty they decided to multi load the freebie with AV and Anti Malware, should have stuck with just a Free FW and left the other products for the Pro version, JMHO.

    another test for you http://www.auditmypc.com/

Hehe, beta'd out. I know what you mean. Thanks for the link but I can't get it to work in Vista, keeps me going in circles and ZA logs don't show them being blocked. Works well as always in XP.confused Anyways, I'll google for some other scans. This firewall is only for 32-bit so far.

Well I got ZA installed on my Vista PC, I guess with all softwares various hardware and software makeups can alter how it works on your PC, most software is same, what works for you may not for me and vice versa.

But turning off the AV and antimalware via Safe Mode allows it to run in vista for me, seems ok for now.

Dunno on the site as its ok for me, isnt graphical like GRC in showing the ports list, but also try these

http://www.dslreports.com/secureme_go ( can be busy and you end up in a queue )

http://www.hackerwatch.org/probe/ ( with link to two others )

I dont get any blocked notices in ZA as my router takes the hits on incomming so they never hit the PC for ZA to show a log.

Already tried hackerwatch and pcflank came up stealthed. :major I think I won't try anymore today as I think that ZA will come out with flying colours. I've been lucky with Vista and apps so far as I've not had many problems through all the pre-betas and betas. I hope I didn't speak to soon. LOL

Me too on apps, this seems to be the first I've had issues with but with a few workarounds I have used in past it seems to work ok now.

Must have some software on my system that it doesnt like!
