well i was trying to find the right place to post this thread but i think this one is the right one...

okey... a few ago i got a phone interview where they asked me some question.. but the one that got me thinking was this one

a client start the computer but nothing happens... theres no sound, and doesnt pass the POST, when u can see theres power... what do you think is the problem here?... that was the question or something like that..

my first answer was that i would check if everything is connected right, and then check the power supply....

but know i think i could be the mobo or the processor....

and i have 2 more question that keep me thinking too...

    1. A customer has added a USB printer to their PC and after installing the drivers and rebooting, the PC hangs at the BIOS screen.

    2. Describe 3 ways to secure a wireless access point. (i only know 1 )

    thank you

Question is unclear. If nothing happens when you press the power button (as would be the case with a defective psu), then you are unlikely to get to the POST screen.

There is no BIOS screen. Do you mean POST screen? It is unlikely that printer drivers would halt the boot sequence at that early stage. IMO, the freeze would be much more likely to happen as windows loads or prepares to load. The post sequence is merely testing the core components of the pc ie cpu, mobo, ram, vga.

    1. Change the password of the wap from the default one.
    2. Enable MAC addressing
    3. Enable Encrytion protocols ie wep, wpa

    Good Luck

1 question about power... they said to me "no sound, doest pass the PSOT screen" i assume that there is no error sound.. like when happens when you miss insert the ram i guess

    2. question about the driverts printers ... i dindt get it at all

Sounds like trying to get the answers to a test of some type.

    1. Insufficient power to boot the system. Computers when starting put a very heavy load on the power supply and the integration of a new component may have caused the PSU to become overloaded.

    2. The drivers may have been installed from a CD or a USB stick that the system is attempting to boot from. Check the system for either of these devices, remove them, and restart.

    3. Change SSID, enable WPA2, change login username and password, change default IP address, disable SSID broadcast
