i am sure that if i pounded on google, or looked through a bunch of RFCs, or searched some books i could find the answers, but it is oh so much easier to ask, saves time and energy and saves me from boredom.

if i write a page, i then use a FTP program to upload it to the server that is hosting my site?
if i have used images that are on my computer useing something like <img src="C:/mediafiles/images/world.jpg" border="0">

i have told my page to referance my drive C and the file world.jpg
which is on my drive yes? so then when i use and FTP to send my page to my server, if someone veiws my page it can't come back to my hardrive looking for this pic, basicly makeing me a server? (make sense?)
so does an FTP program take the image to the server allso, or do i use a differant comand line? how does this work?

sorry if this is silly question but asking silly questions is how i figure it out.

no.. if you put "C:\pathtofile\filename.jpg" in an image source, it will attempt to look for it under their C: drive..
