I finally have a new computer, and I have Vista as the OS. It's been about 18 months since I last had a PC of my own, so I was wondering if:

Vista firewall is good enough, or should I disable it and use Zone alarm?

Is AVG antivirus still a viable option for me? I was fine with it under XP on my old PC.

Is Adaware still a good program with Vista?

    Any other security/annoyance suggestions?

The PC I bought came with Yahoo toolbar in IE. Can I get rid of it?

Where is the Uninstall Programs feature in Vista? My PC came with 3 months free Norton, that I don't want, and I haven't activated, but I can't find the uninstall feature in Control Panel.

Thanks for any answers, folks. I appreciate them.

I am using AVG with Vista. No probs so far. (3 whole days)LOL

I uninstalled through CCleaner but it still showed up in IE so I deleted all Yahoo folders and then ran a reg cleaner looking for all mention of yahoo and deleted them. That's probably not a recommended way but worked for me.
In Control panel home listed under programs. Didn't know that when I got rid of yahoo.
Norton can be uninstalled through CCLeaner and then cleaned up with the Norton removal tool. http://www.majorgeeks.com/Norton_Removal_Tool_SymNRT_d4749.html

PS I am using the Win Firewall as I am using a router which also has it's own firewall. Not sure if there are probs with it though

Thanks musksnipe. I installed AVG and Adaware. Everything seems to be okay, touch wood.

    Just an FYI,

I run Avast with Vista Ultimate with no problems.

For spyware, I have tested Adaware, Spybot S&D, AVG Spyware, A-squared, EMCO, HJT, Spyblaster and SpywareGuard with no issues. Also run Combofix ok, but it does kick up some error messages, but runs anyway.
