Some Vocabulary

Ok I was just looking at a new power supply for my computer. It reads that it supports, Intel boards. Does this mean that the board has to be manufactured by Intel or is it just the chipset that has to be Intel?

 

I was also wondering, If i purchase a 500 watt power supply could that do damage to my micro-atx motherboard or does it matter how much power i pump into it?

 

It will only output as much power as your computer demands. The 500 watt rating is the maximum power it is rated to deliver. It shouldn't damage your motherboard.
