    Hey,

Alright well I've just finished formatting and putting in WindowsXP (finally!) about 2 days ago. Now I have three issues..

1.) I keep getting the "New Hardware Detected" Message everytime I start up for my "VIA bus master IDE drivers". I assumed this was my motherboard, but even after downloading the VIA 4in1 Drivers and also the miniport driver, it still kept popping up. I dont know what drivers I need to get to get rid of this issue. FYI it is listed under the "SCSI and RAID controllors" in Device Manager. Ive got an Asus A7M266 Motherboard.

2.) Lastly, WindowsXP automatically detected my Soundblaster LIVE! soundcard and showed it under Device Manager. But when I downloaded updated drivers that installed AudioHQ etc.. it caused problems. Now when I try to run AudioHQ I get "Cannot Initialize Audio Driver. Reinstall Audio Driver." And I need AudioHQ to enable all 4 speakers etc

I tried using my original installation cd, but its really old and requires me to install updated drivers right after the software installation before restarting, but even with that it STILL does not work. Ive tried uninstalling, everything then just doing the downloaded ones, or just the cd, 100x different combos and nothing seems to work.

    Any help is greatly appreciated..

Bored, ive already downloaded the patches from the site. Like I said none of them have worked..

I dont know if the two problems are related but I know my motherboard has an onboard-sound type thing and maybe since its not installed properly, its conflicting with the sound card?

Also now whenever I try to restart/shutdown I get a "Closing Program" window and its always trying to close a "DEVLDR" prog which apparently isnt responding. I searched it and got the following results:

    devldr32.exe - C:\Windows\system32
    DEVLDR32.EXE-2CF621DF.pf - C:\Windows\Prefetch
    devldr32.exe C:\Driver Cache\i386\driver.cab

I bet this has something to do with the sound drivers especially since this only started happening since all this AudioHQ trouble..

sounds like you have a RAID enabled board? if you can disable it in the bios, do so.

I disabled the "Onboard AC97 Audio Controllor" in the BIOS which I assume was the onboard sound..

Also I couldnt find any "Raid" options in bios..

    Problem is still here ;(

They pulled 4.51 due to problems, but days later released a new version.

I have my nForce 2 with on board RAID that I've no way to disable that I'm aware of, not that I looked very hard... I just ignore it and disable it and all is well.

Hmm so I should be good without it? And how would I disable it so it stops bugging me? It will still re-detect every start up if I remove it.

Also any suggestions on the AudioHQ issue? THat is really bugging me right now

don't remove the item from the device manager.. just leave it there..

I'll see if I can find some info on the AudioHQ. I'm not overly familiar with CL cards because I despise them immensely and I see their software quality hasn't changed in 5 years..

    Hey,

That would be great thank you. The main reason I want it is so that I can enable 5.1 sound and also it seems to make the quality a lot better then when it is on this "standard" setting..

I have been unsucessful in finding any resolution to the AudioHQ problems.. I've read nothing BUT Problems with the cards and software and no one seems to have an answer other than uninstalling and reinstalling.. It would appear to me that this an issue that must be resolved by Creative Labs on a software level.
