"Somebody is scanning my computer"

HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE > Merry Christmas, too!

Security Log from Sygate Personal Firewall: "Your computer's TCP ports:
135, 1025, 445, & 3140 have been scanned from 12.73.201.90"
Will someone please translate these ports for me?
Why doesn't the "firewall" block these scans?
How do I trace where scan originated?

Set Sygate to the silent mode, so it just goes about its job without notifying you for each blocked item, you can still check things out in the log files if you want. Sygate also has WHOIS built into it. You can use it to back trace to see who is doing the scan. Like MA said, it is very common for your own ISP to be scanning you.

Under options, general, checkmark "Hide notification messages"
