I'm not sure if this will fix it, but I wanted to at least try to help you. I've been asking for help here for a while, but I don't often find a situation I think I might be able to remedy.

What I would suggest you do is go into your Control Panel and access your Network Connections. Right click your connection and click "Repair". This should renew your IP address, hopefully assigning you one that isn't already in use. If the IP address you're having trouble with isn't your router assigned IP address however, I'm lost, and can't help you.

If what I suggested helps, you might want to look into setting your IP static. Setting up a static IP address may also help keep you from having to repeat this repair process later, though I'm not 100%. If you're not sure how to configure a static IP address, check Google. It should have all the information you need.

Hopefully this post wasn't entirely useless, and helped you out a bit.

if you set static ips, just remember to turn off dhcp on your router or make a reservation for the ip you use.

Using static ips is more likely to cause an conflict, as you may forgot which ips you have assigned already. Thats why dhcp is used, because it lets the router assign an unused ip. More likely he needs to remove any static ip and use dhcp.

You can use DHCP and static IP as long as the static IP is out of the DHCP range.

E.g., If DHCP 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.100, any static IP has to be above 192.168.1.100

Is there any way to get a new IP for my router?
