something is in my PC

Hello ,, I am running win XP home edition and I created a folder on my desktop and decided not to use it... ok I go to delete the empty folder and it refuses to delete it says that another person or program is using that folder turn the other program off and then delete it. I am not doning anything at the time. I have unhooked my internet access and it still will not delete . I ran a online virus scan from Trend Micro it came back clean , What is happening any help would be appreciated . I just got this PC back and I do not want to lose it again.

 

try rebooting then deleting it.

sometimes a program(or windows) will forget to give up control of a file, like you were saying, and all you need to do is reboot to make things right.
