Something strange.

I just got done changing a wireless LAN card. So I went to an ISP website, and checked the connection speeds on a local server. While I was doing this a chat window opened. It was two tech's from the ISP chatting to one another. It was almost comical. I liked when one of them said that "how can I give the customer the contract internet speed, with the junk router I was given to install".
Well to make a long story short, It's a cable provider. They offer fast internet speeds, and didn't upgrade the equipment in the homes. It's not even my ISP, I was just using the speed test.

Well here are the speeds of new card compared to the old. What I wanted to do in the first place.

Upload Speed: 10319 kbps (1289.9 KB/sec transfer rate)

Download Speed: 7159 kbps (894.9 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 10172 kbps (1271.5 KB/sec transfer rate)

 

Depends on if you are connecting Wireless-B, G, N, what brand of router, what brand of wireless adapter/NIC, what your ISP connection is, what site you are using for the test. Too many variables.

 

The test I used Comcast's and I used it on both the old card, and the new one using a local server. This helped cut down variables between the two.

The strange part was a chat window opening when, I was on the site. Reading a chat I had nothing to do with.
