Something's dead in my laptop :)

Hi everyone my laptop is sort of dead Let me describe my problem to you. When i turn it on screen is totally black and when you listen closely it sounds like the laptop is restarting every 10 seconds. I tested the HDD and it works fine, the display is not the problem either, i opened it and cleaned it thoroughly, replaced the thermal paste... And the problem is still there unfortunately. I suspect that either the chipset,CPU or GPU are dead. What do you good people think ? Is there anything i can do ?

Nothing worse than a dead laptop.

You might try reseating any RAM modules, swapping them if you've got multiples, etc.

Can you access the BIOS at all, or boot to a CD/DVD/USB stick?

 

nope i cant access boot menu or bios the screen is black. i tried pulling out ram modules, still the same... :confused

 

I've got the very same problem with a Hi-grade 8615, i,ve tried just about every thing to sort it out, to no avail !!!:cry!!! i'm pretty gutted about it, it needs a new motherboard, to complicated for me !!! so is going on fleabay for salvage as everything is A* apart from continious looping restarts.
I hope yours is not a similar issue.

 

well i dont think its the whole motherboard, i think that the chispet or the GPU need to be refurbished.

 

it was the RAM. i tried another module, brand new this time, and it worked like a charm ...:-D
