Sonic RecordNow not booting correctly

My system is consisted of Windows XP/Pro with Serv. pack 2 With media center Edition Ver. 2002
Pentium 4 CPU 2.8 GHz, 2.79 GHz, 512 MB of RAM w/ 800 frontside bus

My problem is that when I click on my Sonic record now icon, it takes about 5 minutes inorder for it to open and allow me to record music or burn other files . The verison of Sonic is 6. I have tried doing free updates but this does not work. A-side from this issue, when ever I want to open any file on my desktop inlcuding Mozzilla browser, it takes about 30-40 sec for anything to open. I have done all of what is said to to do for the "Hijacker" that helped get rid of unwanted adaware and other spyware, but this has been an ongoing problem for the last 4-5 months. I doubt it is my memory, but please help.

 

Seems as if something is taking up all your memory/processor time, a virus or spyware.

Open up Task Manager (right click on taskbar, choose Task Manager).

When open, click the CPU column once to see what is taking up processor time and do the same for memory. You can identify virtually any process by Googling it, or post here so we can see. I bet there is something hogging your system.

I don't see anything that would cause the symptoms you describe.
McAfee could make things a little slow, but nothing compared to the wait times you see.

I would completely uninstall both Sonic and Mozilla.

Install the latest version of Sonic, update.

Also, Mozilla has ceased development, try Firefox for Internet and Thunderbird for Email. Both are fast and reliable.
