Hey guys, I couldn't remember my old account password (*wavygravy*) or the email so I just created a new account. Anyways//

I just bought an OEM Sony DVDrom DDU1516. I installed it, set it to Slave. Made sure the IDE and power cables were attached. And now it works but winXP won't read it. It works meaning, it opens and closes the drive bay door but will not flash anything on screen or load anything. In the Device Manager it states that it is an Error Code 10. I didnt install a driver for it because usually this stuff is PlugnPlay. I tried inserting a game and after a brief period winXP decided to Disable the drive altogether. It loaded fine for about 20sec earlier and even was recognized but it didn't last long. I have Alcohol120% installed with 5 virtual drives would that cause instability issues maybe?

Any help provided will be appreciated.

Thx, but I fixed the issue. Had the drive set to Slave, simply set it to the first jumper (CAS) and it worked friggin perfect. Sorry to bug you guys. Please delete this post.
