Sony Handycam CCD - TR485E Video

I have been searching for an answer for ages now, to no avail, so hopefully you good people can help me here.

I have a Sony Handycam Video 8, CCD - TR485E PAL. It records on tapes which are 8MM HS90 video 8 tapes.
What my question is - Is there ANY way at all to get these videos onto my computer?
The reason being is that we had a leak in the attic a few days back and it came very close to destroying them. As you can imagine they contain some very precious memories to my family, So I'd like to have a digital copy of them incase something does happen to go wrong in the future.

Any help would be much appreciated, and if you need any more details on the camera, feel free to ask.
