Hope that helps a bit...now the issue. I've been told that the sound card is intergrated into the motherboard so changing it is a bit of a problem without a huge mess. Which is above my gremlin talents to fix. I can play MP3 files and WMA's from the current sound card to headset or built in speakers no problem. Where I run into a road block is I'm unable to play music at the same time as using the mic in chatrooms/musicrooms. If I ran a patch cord from speaker jack to mic I could but i couldn't hear or use mic. Splitters distort the music and I pick up static and internal noise. Not sure if this is more a software/driver issue or just realtek. My goal " I want to play music from my local machine to a chatroom"..Any workarounds, ideas,are greatly welcomed.
