Sony Vaio not powering on.

Hi guys been a part of the Major Geeks page for five years and have found the site very useful for techs, Im in the Army now and one of the other soldiers has a Sony Vaio that wont power on. I said Id look at it for him and I took it to my barracks. The power adapter is new, and I took it apart to look inside and didnt notice any burn or shorts so I put it back to gether after checking connections but it wont turn on. Any ideas Id be grateful. Thanks, I also ran a search before posting. Its a sony pcg 8z2l.

 

I took apart the laptop not the power supply, read my post and it seemed confusing, anyhow, any help would be great.

 

If the following does not work, I would recommend that you take it to a shop. Disconnect the power supply, remove the battery and hold the power button down for 30 seconds. Then reconnect the power supply but do not install the battery. Does the computer boot without the battery installed?

Replacing the CMOS battery may help.

 

Yea I was thinking maybe cmos and i will try to do the thing you suggest. Thank you

 

Thanks i will take a look there too if the cmos thing doesnt work. I dont know why he got a new one.
