Sony Vaio W/Vista can't find CD/DVD player

    This morning, my Vaio can't seem to find the CD/DVD player/Burner It is not in the my computer folder, It is lost as an easter egg. Any clues?

    Does it show in Device Manager?

    If my article applies, then go for it, but with the understanding that any CD/DVD burning apps will need to be reinstalled.

    Yes it shows in the Device Manager, with the yellow triangle icon. I assume that is is a driver issue?

    Most likely a filter driver problem, yes.

    My regfile will fix it, if thats the case.
