Re: HELP-Zone Alarm, Smart FTP issues (here's the steps I've taken so far) Suggestions?

Hi, I'm a new member, so please excuse me if I've not posted this to the correct place!

I had read this thread and taken the advice of using CCleaner and RegSeeker in an attempt to remove ALL of my Zone Alarm pro files, but am still having problems with my Sophos Anti Virus. Last month, after many reminders, I downloaded the latest ZAPro upgrade and since then, every time I try to run any type of Sophos scan, my PC reboots. I had loads of advice from Sophos tech support and all appears ok with it. Zone Alarm support have not replied.
I had a similar problem last year and in the end had to reformat my hard drive to solve things.
I think I've used both the registry cleaners correctly but it has not solved the problem. On the day I downloaded the ZA upgrade, I also downloaded some Windows updates, something I do not do that often. I wonder if any of these may be causing a conflict with Sophos and would also like to ask if it is possible to remove them.

Thanks for any advice - I'm really frustrated not being able to revert my PC to its former happy condition!

    Sally

    Hi sallwah, Welcome to MajorGeeks

I have moved your post to its own thread as it wasn't relevant to the thread you posted in. We like to keep different problems in different threads as it helps avoid confusion with the advice you get.

We have a lot of great people with a lot of software knowledge here so you should get some helpful responses shortly! :)

Thanks Matt, but fingers crossed, I appear to have won the battle! I re-ran RegSeeker and it found a couple more ZA files, plus, I got rid of the latest Win updates too. Don't want to get my hopes up too soon but have run 3 sophos scans without a reboot, so hope one of the files zapped was the culprit!
I'm pleased I read this thread, especially about CCleaner and RegSeeker - Thank you very much!
    Sally
