Sorry!!

Sorry I haven't been around for awhile, but the old ticker is giving me problems again. It appears that the artery in back of the heart is starting to weaken due to my high blood pressure. It was repaired once when I had my triple by-pass. So the doc put me on some new blood pressure pills and something called 'trandolapril' which, from the way I understand it, is to slow my heart rate down. He's giving me 60 days to get it down and if it doesn't decrease, well it'll be time to rip open the chest cavity again:cry Just my luck, out of all the arteries to start going 'south' on me, it would be the one in the very back of the heart which, from what I'm told, cannot be reached by 'normal' means. Oh well, life goes on:-D

 

Bad news Stubby but with the modern methods of surgery and you being a stubborn old coot:-D you will get through it.

I am also no stranger to surgery, I have more spare parts inside me than an old car (i'm a hoot at airports)

 

Ain't no man taking that route with me:-D

Hey Stubby like TC, the Prayer Worriers are on duty here:strong:strong:strong:strong. I checked out the meds that the doc gave you http://cat.inist.fr/?aModele=afficheN&cpsidt=1630334 and it sure sounds like a good thing. But the prayers and positive thoughts will be sent your way as well. If you are anywhere near being like the character I picture you then you have an amazingly strong will and that is a big factor in anyones life.

Your worst day above the sod is infinitely better than your best day below the sod...

If I remember correctly - I think its an old saying my mother used to use, sod being soil.

So sorry to hear of your ongoing heart problems, Stubby. I sure hope that the Docs get it fixed up so that you're up and active again. They say that a positive mental attitude is half the battle, which you already have, so the rest is up to the professionals, I guess. Good luck and good health to you, my friend!

 

First off, I want to thank-you all for you wishes and kind thoughts. They mean more to me then you'll ever know...and that comes from the heart (little pun there:-D) The doc called in 3 more prescriptions for me last night and now I feel like a walking pill factory. He added 'Metoprolol,' 'Plavix,' and 'Vytorin.' However, the worse part is, he cut my coffee intake to just 2 cups a day:cry. I usually drink between 12 and 15 a day. Again, thank you ALL so very much

 

Hang in there, Stubby, Sure, cut your coffee down, and more meds. Don't complain to the Dr, he might have another pill for that too..:yum How about some juices? :yum

You can have coffee in the morning, and how about juice in the afternoon? I sure hope the meds work, Stubby, will be keeping the :strong :strong :strong up for ya.. Do what the Doc says, Stubby, and we're pulling for ya :strong :strong

 

Stubby---sounds as if your Doc is right on top of the situation---good meds---blood thinners---good care---do your part and then rest in your, "Higher Power"---if you don't have one---trust all of our prayers---okay?
