Sorting MS Outlook Contacts

When I transferred my MS Outlooks Contacts list from one PC to another, it changed the sorting of the contacts by organisation's name to the person's name.
How do I change it back?

Thanks Aaron for the reply but there is no 'name' in the grey area . I've learned that I can individually reorganise them using the "File As" box in the entries.

Probably either view->arrange by, "show views in navagation pane", and change the opton on the left menu, or tools->options->preferences tab, contact options->default "file as" order.

Those paths are for Outlook 2003, menus may vary slightly between versions.

Let me know if those aren't the setting you are looking for.

 

Thanks for the advice. It works for new entries but does not rearrange the existing one.

 

Hmm... maybe tools->email accounts->view or change existing directories, and then change on the outlook address book? I think that might only allow you to swap the first name/last name order though.

Other than that, I'm not sure. Might be worth playing around with the various view->...customize current view options. I'm pretty sure there is a switch, something like start->run: outlook /cleanview (or cleanviews, or something similar) which can be used to destroy the current view settings, so you probably don't need to worry about making a few random changes.
