Ok. So my vista's on the fritz. I turn on the computer and everything starts off fine. it boots up and brings me to the screen where i enter my password. i enter it and it takes me to a black screen. Thats where it stops. thats what it thinks the desktop is. I can still access the internet if i use the taskmanager and run firefox.exe but it wont run CDs. This is bad because i have a CD that resets the computer to factory defaults (wipes hard drive, clears memory) pretty much like its a new computer. Every time i try to open the CD it brings me to the "burn a blank CD" screen.

    can anyone help?
