    Can anyone help me??

I just had to have my windows reinstalled on my PC. A friend did it for me.

My problem now is that I have no Sound on my computer (not even system sounds) and I can't no longer connect to the Internet via Ethernet.

I'm assuming I need to install the drivers for this? I can't find a disk anywhere with sound drivers or drivers for Ethernet connection.

My friend suggested trying to download them online but to be honest I'm not sure exactly which driver I need as there seems to be hundreds out there Can anyone help me?

    Emma x:cry

I'm not 100% sure what motherboard I have but I kept everything that came with the computer in what looks like a motherboard box.

    It's MSI K8T Neo2 v2.0
    K8T800 pro + 8237R plus chipset based
designed for AMD Athlon 64/FX/X2 Processors

    Hi

The drivers for the MSI K8T Neo2 are here

Install the Chipset Drivers first which are the VIA 4 in 1 ones, then install the others as in Audio, Ethernet, etc personally I would reboot after installing each one if not prompted to do so.

Then check in Device Manager if you still have any Yellow ! marks by any hardware devices and tell us what ones.

    Hi Halo

Thanks, I'll go and do that now.

I have Windows XP home edition version 5.1 with service pack 2 running on my PC.

Will I need to install the drivers for Windows 9X/Me/2000/XP or Windows XP 64bit

Just wanted to double check before I go ahead and do it.

    Hi Emma

You'll need the Windows 9X/Me/2000/XP ones :) as Windows XP Home doesnt come in x64 guise.

    H Halo

    I have sound again :)

Still not got no ethernet though :cry

Just checked my device manager and I still have a yellow ? next to it.

On the Chipset Drivers VIA 4 in 1 and the Realtek ALC Series AC97 Audio Driver I just opened the folder up and clicked on the setup icon and it installed them for me.

On Realtek Gigabit Ethernet Drivers there wasn't a set up icon. The only one I could find that would run was a file called lanutility? I ran that but when I insert my internet install disk again I still get the message:

We have detected that you are only able to connect your hub using USB. You have no detectable Ethernet ports available.

Tried rebooting a few times but still no luck :cry

    Can you help?

    Emma xx

    Hi Emma

When you boot your PC, look for the key to press to enter your BIOS, and press it and look for any mention in the menus of LAN or Ethernet and enable/disable, if disabled enable it and save and exit the bios, or on the back of the PC when you plug in the network cable if present does the network ports lights light up.

I downloaded the network drivers to see what the package was, now I know its a manual install, so make sure that the drivers are extracted from the zip file, then open Device Manager and double click the network/ethernet then click the Driver tab and choose Update Driver, then Browse my computer for drover software, then browse to the location of the unzipped folder and click it to highlight and follow the prompts to install the driver.
