sound blaster live!

My mixer has a ctdevcon.dll error and wont initialize.Have tried every possible on reinstall and now am lost. I am runnind 98se on a precision 220 dell. If anyone has any thoughts i would like some assistance because creative is not helping at all. thnx

 

If you have an "older" Sound Blaster Live card or similar, the drivers are pretty buggy and very hard to make all the features work.

Have you tried updating the drivers, either at Dell's site, or even Creative's?

 

I found some dos instructions on some files to delete and it has helped alot, I still find that i have sound dropping out only when I use the digital out.Everything else seems to be working now. The dropouts are the reason I started the uninstall\reinstall process that got me into trouble.I am going to go to the dell site to see what they offer. Thankx
