Sound card stops working after hibernate or standby

Okay, first the background...so, a few weeks ago after a nasty, nasty virus, I deleted my hard drive and re-installed my system from scratch. I'm running Windows XP on a Dell E510. I could not find the disks with all the original Dell Drivers, but after a lot of painful trial and error, I finally got pretty much everything working on the computer again. Everything except sound.

I've got a Creative SB Audigy 2Z soundcard. When Windows loads after re-start it detects my sound card, but also an additional sound device with the yellow warning label in the Device Manager. When I uninstall this "unknown device" and then uninstall "Microsoft UAA bus driver for HD audio" under system devices, then I get my sound back. I'd be reasonably happy just doing that, but after every hibernation or even standby, I lose sound. I check device manager, but these conflicts are no longer visible. The only way to then get sound back is to re-start the system and repeat the uninstallations described above. I've opened up the case and am not aware of any other card in a PCI slot, and certainly not anything with sound.

    Any advice/suggestions greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the suggestion. I had already installed the most recent driver for my sound card, so that's not the problem.
