I know only little about computers so, please bear with me. Also, excuse spelling erros. Doing this quickly.

Ok, I was cleaning out some programs and accidentally deleted my sound drivers.

At first, it showed (in device Manager) a yellow Q mark on Mult. Audio Media Controller. I decided, since my computer was already full of messy files from family members, I decided to delete (on computer) everything and reinstall Windows XP. In the back of my mind I was hoping the my sound would come back. It didn't.

So it said the same thing about my sound. This time I decided to re-install the drivers from the list it gave me. I clicked the Audio and Video Game option, installed it and then the Yellow Q mark on it went away. Sadly, I still have no sound.

    Microsoft XP
    Pro
    Version 2002

    p.s additional notes.

Re-installing XP caused other problems, (I think). In device manager, PCI Modem, SM bus controller, Universal Bus (USB) Controller and Video Controller (VGA Compatible) also have the yellow mark next to them.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Since we have no details about your hardware or PC in general (make, model, etc), it would be extremely helpful if you could upload an Everest hardware/software report as an attachment to your next post. Here's how:

Here's your drivers. Install them in the order listed:

    Chipset Drivers: http://www.asrock.com/mb/download.asp?Model=775i65GV&s=&T=D&ID=157
    Audio Driver: http://www.asrock.com/mb/download.asp?Model=775i65GV&s=&T=D&ID=162
    Video Driver: http://www.asrock.com/mb/download.asp?Model=775i65GV&s=&T=D&ID=151
Modem Driver: http://www.asrock.com/mb/download.asp?Model=775i65GV&s=&T=D&ID=168 (if this doesn't work, let us know and we'll try something else)

That should do it. Install each driver in the order listed above (chipset first), and restart the PC after each driver is installed. Once their all installed, check the Device Manager and if there's still some yellow ? or !, post what they are, and we'll try something else.
    Good luck!
