Hi everyone, I'm new here so please be kind and patient with me!

I recently had to reinstall windows because i had a virus i couldn't get rid of.
Since the reinstall i have no sound on my computer and i no longer have access to the cds that came with my pc due to a relationship break up.

I have downloaded numerous drivers but none of them have worked. I have attached the log that everest created for me with all my computer details.

Thanks for any help in advance :)

Greetings, She1980, and welcome to Major Geeks.

Try this real quick: download and run this file. Reboot, see if your symptoms have changed, and let us know if there are any flags in Device Manager.

Is this an OEM machine? If so, what's the make and model #?

    Hello,
Here is the support page for your motherboard. Caliban is good at solving driver problems. Maybe this will help. Looking at your attachment though, I do not see any exclamation next to your sound device in Device Manager.

Any idea why there wouldn't be an exclamation next to my sound device if it isn't working then?

Do it : Right click My Computer - Properties - Hardware Tab - Device Manager - Right click the device you want to view - Properties - Details Tab - Select Hardware Id from the list afterwards select all - copy and paste here the code !! :cool

So i went and downloaded the realtek audio motherboard driver from the gigabite website, still not having any luck. I get an error message saying i have no mixer devices installed.
Here are the codes from the Realtek High Definition Audio device using the instructions you gave.

    HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0883&SUBSYS_1458C603&REV_1000
    HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0883&SUBSYS_1458C603

I have also attached another screenshot of my the device manager.

    Hi,
We need to start again from scratch...Download driver sweeper and save to your desktop...

    http://majorgeeks.com/Driver_Sweeper_d6171.html

DO THIS IN SAFE MODE (f8 on re-boot)..... Install and run driver sweeper, do not except the realplayer install(remove the tick), I have uploaded a screenshot of driversweeper with instructions. You need to put ticks in the Intel chipset driver and Realtek sound driver box's, and any other boxes that have the word 'SOUND' beside it, click Analyze then click Clean you must run the clean button twice as this will clear up any residual leftovers. Boot back into Normal Mode.On the machine you are using for posting Download and save the drivers for your machine in a folder ('Name this as your Driver cd') ready to burn to disc, burn those files to disc or save to a flashdrive.
    Your Drivers here....

    http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=2304#dl

1.) Install the Chipset driver first, follow all the prompts then re-boot.
2.) Install the VGA driver, follow all the prompts then re-boot.
3.) Install the Realtek Function driver, follow all the prompts then re-boot.
4.) install the Marvell Lan driver, follow all the prompts then re-boot.

Let me know how you get on.

When you have finished up re-installing the drivers I would also like for you to check that Windows Sound Services are started.....

start>control panel> Admin tools> Services> check to see if the windows sound services are started they should be set to Automatic... if they are not started please choose the sound service by clicking on it and in the pop up box in the General tab 'start up type' in the dropdown select Automatic then click Apply then OK.
