Sound Driver problem

I just did a fresh windows install but I don't have a driver cd containing all my drivers. I thus lost my sound driver and more. I have already identified most of the missing drivers and patched them but I cannot find a driver for my sound card. Please help.

As you have done a full reinstall of the OS, Below is ACERs website with all the drivers for your model PC

Sadly ACER dont always supply the type of motherboard used in their PCs so finding the motherboards chipset is harder as at times you need the motherboard chipset drivers to allow the OS to pickup the hardware first ( like USB, Audio and LAN ) so that the correct drivers will be installed ok.

As your graphic adapter is an Ati xpress 1200 its likely that the motherboard is also a Ati one and that is the driver that will install both Graphics and Chipset drivers, so install that one first if you have not already then install audio.

You can check for missing devices in device managr and look for yellow ! marks.

hmmm thats strange... After I installed the audio driver in the website you redirected me too, the audio still doesn't work... I've checked and my acer desktop is the same version as the website's.

Is the Windows Audio service running?
Go to Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Services
Scroll down the list of services until you find the Windows Audio service.
Right click on it and choose Properties.
Make sure it is set to Automatic and Start is checked
