We had some Gateway E-series computers donated to our district. The motherboard is the Intel D865GLC. I downloaded and tried the sound driver from the intel website but it gives the error device not found, restart system and try again. I tried their troubleshooting ideas but none worked. I googled the gateway e series sound driver and saw that someone else on majorgeeks.com was having the same problem. User StokesNC found the sound driver and was posting it but I don't see it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    MHSD

If you could post the Gateway model numbers (besides just "E-Series") and/or an Everest report (Everest how-to guide at this link), we can probably point you in the right direction. Since they are Gateway PCs, there's a chance that Gateway has changed something on the motherboards so the basic Intel drivers don't work....
    :-D
