Sound Flickering On And Off. Keyboard Issue? Switch To Linux?

My sound flickers on and off rapidly. It's not constant, only sometimes. Though more often than I'd like. There is no indication of malware from either malwarebytes of superantispyware, and I don't often run foreign executeables anyway. Can't remember the last time.

I suspected it might be a keyboard problem as I had other keyboard problems. It would scroll down on it's own, so I disabled the arrow keys using a registry editor for keys. More recently, some keys work sometimes and sometimes not, mostly on the left side. So I use an external keyboard. it may stop flickering momentarily if I press the control button on the laptop keyboard, but not the external one. It used to sometimes do things just from running my hand across the surface. Europa Universalis and Alpha Centauri used to not work, but started working again.

However, a couple software programs don't indicate any key being "pressed", unless anyone has a suggestion of some specific program to try. It is too bad I can't disable mute.

The computer was practically dying before I did the windows ten update, even though it wasn't my first inclination to do so. But, I don't seem to recall this problem before switching. I have windows update disabled, as this would sometimes kill the computer. But I'd just assume fix it than buy a new computer. Maybe this would be fixed if I used linux instead, maybe it is operating system related. This has been suggested on forums before.

I've never been one to hope that hardware drivers are sufficiently emulated, but I suppose linux has a good reputation. A look of absolute user friendliness isn't the biggest deal to me, and I've considered Gentoo in the past as it is suggested it has high efficiency - but it certainly has the look of a major project to me.

It wouldn't be a big deal to lose a few games, or otherwise try to get them running. I only game on occassion anyway. Major hurdle would be moving files. It would make a lot more sense to have one major linux partition, but my drive is pretty well half full at this point, albeit probably from video games. I'm given to understand one could gradually increase the partition, though it's tricky.

So I suppose I could try it if there's no other solution, or maybe try it anyway, if anyone wants to help me give it a go. I have a spare 15gb stick if one wanted to try it that way first.

Driver booster failed to connect to the network. I'm not aware of any actual problem with my internet. It scans it and says there's no problem, but continues to be unable to connect.

I don't use any extra firewall at the moment, I know that windows has one.

Malwarebytes adware cleaner detected a few non-malicious attachments to internet explorer, some anti-malware thing from lavasoft which seems to have left willingly though I'll double check. Driver booster (which still isn't working after restart). Nothing actually considered malicious. I suppose I might as well remove driver booster for now since it isn't working.

    I'll run these.

The log shows no system file errors.
FYI You can upload files directly to the Forums.

Try an external set of speakers or headphone.

I usually do, and this is a new pair. It is also doing the equivalent of pressing tab now, scrolling my start menu icons.
    Like I said I don't think it's the sound.

It's doing this sort of thing instead. First time it's happened. It jumps onto the address bar, flickering it
