Hi, im new to this site as a poster as most of the problems i come across tend to have been solved a long long time ago so if im posting improperly i appologise.

NOW the problem im having is that i resently deleted a corrupted partition and reinstalled windows XP onto a hard drive, now obviously with a new install i have to go through alllllll the drivers again, the problem is i dont have any of the computers original discs.

by itself the computer has managed to get alot of the drivers the main one im having trouble with is the sound one though as it says the sound hardware isnt installed and the drivers are missing.

the sound is built into the mother board itself any ideas?

the mother board im using is the Goldfish-GL8E (ASUS PTGD1-LA) and im really up sh*t creek here so any ideas/link/theorys would be greatly apreciated!

Sounds like it is an HP computer. You should be able to search the HP.com site for your PC model number and locate the sound drivers.

Does your computer have a model number on it anywhere? If so, please post it and someone will look for the drivers.

Yes, a model number would help. Hp is pretty good about keeping drivers online forever.

The Audio driver update here is probably what you need but it would be best to go from your PC model number.
