All sound programs installed (Realtek, Windows, etc.) but I was told headphones or speakers were missing.

Okay, bought a set if KS11 Logitech speakers, followed the installation instructions and ------! Still no sound.

Logitech's troubleshooting (included with the installation instructions - how odd) advises problem is with my sound card. Where do I find that? How do I know which sound card I have? I refuse to buy any more gadjets to get this stupid computer working as it should.

I have had it with Vista! I want my XP back!

    Help!

Do you have any ! in device manager? If so, that would be the 1st step. 2nd step would be to check Sound under device manager, and see if you have any green check boxes next to any devices you have. I'd post pics, but my computer is windows 7, I'd bring up a vm of vista, but, I have to find it. Should be similar anyway.

Many thanks for trying. I've been around and around control panel, devices and sound, but can find nothing.

Realtek said I needed to update the program, so I did. Realtek says it's working but nothing else is plugged in. Everything is connected as Logitech instructed, so the speakers should work. In my Sys Tray the microphone image has green arcs extending from it whereas before there was a red X.

    I'm completely lost.

Because I updated Realtek, I'll reboot my computer and come back.

I really give up. Nividia says it isn't installed. A search says I have the most up to date version.

Nothing like your images appear on my computer.

    Woo-Hoo! I have sound!

I Googled a few forums for my Logitech speakers and found an answer to someone with the same problem. He or she suggested turning the button on the speaker to see if that would help. It did.

Just passing this on for anyone with the same problem I was having.

Thank you to the guys here for helping as much as they could.

    Cheers!
