Alright, I cant figure this one out, so lets bump our minds. I am having a bit of an issue with my sound during music playback, it will play fine but every 5-10 seconds or so it will kinda lag and sound like a cd skipping for a split second. I just got done running a sound test in the DirectX Diagnostics, and I failed at step 20.

Any idea's on what the problem can be? It is a rather new problem, and all drivers are up-to-date.

    Thanks.

Skip could be a hard drive issue if your playing from the hard drive. Try running CCleaner to clean the drive, then a defragmentation.

Also, something memory intensive that is running could cause some slowdown as well. This will be harder to track down, though looking through startup for items you do not need may help as well.

Yea, I did just move all of the music files (40GB worth) to a different hard drive.
