    Greetings!

Bought a computer (this one: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/product?lc=en&cc=se&lang=sv&os=2093&product=3542402&dlc=sv&)and decided to "upgrade" from Vista to XP.

I checked among other sites including majorgeeks in order to see if i found drivers that i needed. And sure enough, i found drivers for everything so off i went reinstalling. It has this mobo: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...&cc=se&lang=sv&os=2093&dlc=sv&product=3542402

Now, the problem. No matter what i do, or what i install (trust me i have tried almost everything on this site on the matter), my computer refuses to find the audio. The annoying questionmark with yellow dot on the multimedia and sounddriver is depressing.

At first i got the errors that i didnt have the UAA HDA at all, but after trying various stuff, including UAA addon (which didn't work btw) and installing first WDM_R194, then when that didnt work and after some more surfing around, i tried WDM_R161.

Apart from the sound, it's working great as far as i can tell. But i have a sneaky suspicion i don't have the right Chipset after all.

But im running out of ideas. So could use a hand.

    Cheers

Edit: I have not messed around or reinstalled the bios. yet. But when i installed my printer, it found the WLAN drivers And acknowledged for the first time that i hadn't installed the sounddrivers.

Moahah! I managed to solve it step by step!

firstly i downloaded Drivermax (as everest didnt give me the results i wanted) @ http://www.innovative-sol.com/drivermax/.

Then there i found SUSTeK LNA Tiger Hybrid Capture Device that i then googled up and downloaded the latest acceptable!

Installed and whoppa! 1 questionmark gone.

Then onto the audio.. I had been messing with realtek drivers, which was completely wrong.. Drivermax told me for 100% certainty i had creative X-fi card. since Audio CODEC: ALC888S didn't work i found on this very Site! the best driver ever.

    Problem solved. All is golden!

    Leave the BIOS alone!
