    Hello,

So as of late, my computer (running winxp pro) was having issues with sound. My computer would not load up any type of sound when I first booted my computer, but if I waited for about 10-15 mins then did a reboot, the sound would then come on. I noticed yesterday that the sound did NOT come on at all after several reboots and checking all of the wires and plugs making sure that everything was ok(which it was), it still did not work.

I went to Frye's and bought some cheap Logitech speakers and plugged those in, and still no avail of the sound. I tried plugging in some headphoes straight into the port where the speakers normally go to see if I got sound that way, and still nothing. I checked the drivers and there are no signs(!) next to it so now I'm totally out of clue.

Can anyone help me out? This is really frustrating!!!

It may sound simple, but go to control panel to sounds and audio settings and make sure the mute box isn't checked in the sound.
