Hi, I have a friend who is having sound issues on his computer. He has windows vista installed on his computer and he says when he goes to watch a movie or listen to music it just cuts off. He has a, Motherboard Name Jetway K8M8MSR2-A, I just assumed it was a driver issue or some form of compatiability issue but wasnt too sure so thought I would ask you guys.

    Thanks

That is an older motherboard and Jetway does not provide drivers for Vista for that board, probably because Vista will auto-install the drivers. Installing a codec pack might help, try using this pack and hopefully it will help.... it can't hurt! ;)
    Good luck!

Cheers for the reply m8, sadly he said it did not work. Would he be able to buy a independant soundcard instead of using the onboard one and that would be ok?

    Thanks

Absolutely! Just be sure that he goes in to the BIOS on the motherboard and disables the on board audio before installing the PCI sound card, and to be sure that the power cord is unplugged from the PC before opening the case to install the sound card..... if you have any other questions or concerns, you know where to find us! ;)
