Ok, heres the deal. I have gotten a few different video files, mostly cartoons, and on everyone I get the sound is like 3-5 seconds off. I can't figure out why. I generally play them on media player. When i tried with Quicktime I git no sound whatsoever. So I am kinda stumped here, I can't believe that every file is bad so I figure its gotta be me. I don't have any type of audio or video cards, as my computer is a little on the weak side untill I can afford a new motherboard and processor. Anyway if you guys can think of anything I'd love to know. Thank you.

ok, I have a 120gig harddrive, and 512mb of ram but my processor is only 634mhz. The only ones I have tried are Nero showtime, windows mediaplayer, and Quicktime. I'll try classic and see what happens.

How large are the files that you are playing? What compression are they using? Divx, avi, mpg, mpeg, mp4, etc....

well the ones I currently have are xvid. and after downloading the klite pack they seem to be playing alright, so hopefully that will solve the problem. also the files are 175mb. But those are just the ones I have now. I had quite a few more and got rid of them because I thought they were bad when I started having these problems. Anyway, it seems like the new codecs did the trick. If there is anything else I should try or correct please let me know. Thanks for the help. I love this site! :)

    Xvid, Divx...whatever. :)

WMPlayer is okay, but, I find that sometimes that that player is not quite adequate (sp?) enough.

Anyway, I do like (and always updated) KLM.

    Glad I could help out!

Ok, I thought I was good to but......
I have downloaded a couple of movies and watched them and everything was fine, but now a few days later I try to watch one and the picture is like stuck in slo-mo. THe sound is running at normal speed but the picture is slow and frequently pauses then catches up. I installed a divx player and tried to use it but it says the file contains video data that is not recognized by the Divx player. Video data: FOURCC code "XVID". Any ideas people?
