Have you tried re-opening and re-connecting any cables related to your sound?

I read in there that you re-installed windows? In that case, you're audio may be fried. I would suggest buying a sound card as a replacement.

First, check the system BIOS and be sure the on-board audio is enabled. Second, some motherboards (most) have a header with a cable that runs to the front panel audio jacks; if this cable is loose or unplugged, it may affect the sound so be sure it is correctly connected. If that all fails, and if it's a clean install and you have no data on the drive, go ahead and do another clean install (meaning: format the hard drive) with WinXP SP2. This time, DO NOT install SP3 (at least not right away; SP3 will not fix any driver problems regardless of what they are). Once the install is done, and BEFORE installing any sound drivers, attach another screen shot of the Device Manager, just like the one above except for System Devices does not need to be open. Just open the Sound section in the screen shot. Then we'll know for sure if the on-board sound is fried...

OK sorry guys for the long reply it wasn't the bios and it wasn't windows it was the motherboard the audio jack got burn and the motherboard didn't detect it. I return it and got a new one thanks for the reply.
