Hi, can someone please help with this problem, i had my friends pc over the weekend to fix as she had a virus, but now there is no sound at all, in the device manager under sound, audio, soundmax intergraed audio digital has gone,
I got her to download soundmax intergrated digital audio driver v 5.12.0.1, but when she goes to install it, it says that the driver can not be found, i read on the website that she has to already have installed a system chipset. downloaded from hp website, can not find the chipset there, i am getting really confused on what to do, she really wants her sound back, i dont no what has happened. any ideas. thanks in advance :)

Are you getting her to check the option that says "Have disk" and getting her to point the driver installer at the location where the driver file(s) is/are? And presumably the driver isn't in a zipped file and needs unzipping first?

It's amazing how often we overlook the obvious (yes, I'm guilty!! :) ) so these are my suggestions to start with.
