Sound problem with skype

Hey

I am not exactly sure if this is only a Skype problem, but for some reason no one that I call on the other end can hear me. It is not the microphones fault, as it does work on my other computer just fine. Also, I can hear myself through the systems speakers, and when I plug in the headphones, I can hear myself fine through them. Any ideas???

open Skype / Tools / Options / Sound Devices / pull down audio in / select the mike / make test call to skype answering machine /.... Let me know what happens

 

OK just so you know...I was helping a friend with this....so I may not be able till friday....but I didnt forget!!

 

OK I cannot hear myself talk on the Skype answering machine thing. The two options I have for audio in devices are windows default device, and realtek HD audio, neither of which work. Ideas?

 

PROBLEM RESOLVED!!!!!! I had to go through the audio devices in the control panel, and unselect the microphone powerboost...and THEN run a "hardware test" for some reason.
