Sound Problems...

I Have No Sound At All On My Computer... When I Go To Sound Control It Says There Is No Audio Device, Usually I Would Just Download Realtek Ac97 Driver And It Works But For Some Reason This Time Nothing Seems To Be Working. Please Help Somebody? Thanks.

 

Do you have onboard sound? Possibly turned it off in the bios?

 

to be honest im not sure what that is or where to look for it..... i just know that when i go to control panel then sounds and audio devices it says no audio devuice is installed... sorry i know im not much help. thanks for your help

 

Try going to device manager in control pannel, does it state there is any sound devices there? If so is there a question mark next to them?

have you changed any system details lately? New hardware / software.
And what OS are you on please?

 

i have been to my device manager and it is working properly.

my os is XP is that what you mean?

and no i have not changed any hardware recently

 

how do you turn the onboard sound with the bios

 

This may or may not be the prob but we need to be sure.
1) Double click on your volume icon and make sure volumes are set right.

2) Goto Start>Run and then type in services.msc
Scroll down to Windows Audio and open it by double clicking on it.
Make sure the the start box is checked.

Also post your OS and the make and model number of your PC. If you have a sound card post the info on that also.
