Sound Problems

Ok, the problem is that i have a K9VGM-v MSI Motherboard and recently my computer commited suicide and i had to reinstall the Operating system to windows XP and now i have no sound, i have tryed the MSI site for the proper drivers and for some stange reason they seem not to work i have read other threads and found a similar problem with another person on here with the Microsoft WINMM WDM Audio Compatibility Driver dissapearing after a reinstallation and reboot sadley i was unaware wether or not the download posted would break my pc again or not http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=151422 thats the thread i am referencing to would this help my problem to or is there somthing different i must do?

 

I have downloaded and looked in the Driver Fusion program and even after i run the Via 4in1 setup and restart my pc as it asks me to in driver fusion when i click the 2 chipset drivers it finds and push the analyze button no info comes up, the Intel chipset and Nvidia chipset im guessing thats the 2 chipsets im missing but as i said after running the Via 4in1 setup they are not there, Nvidia may not help due to that being the video card i have so i have no clue whats wrong, it also says i have another audio driver thats called "Creative" and another called "ASUS" the Creative comes up with one info thing as a registry key-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Creative Tech\
and ASUS comes up empty also not shure if that has any relavence but if it helps.

 

That would help if i had not already tryed getting the most recent driver from the Manufacturing site, as for getting a new soundcard, myn works perfectly i just dont have the necessary drivers to run it im trying to figure out which drivers i need and where to get them since some of the drivers on the site seem not to be working for me.
